What is TMJ/TMD?

Your temporomandibular joints (TMJ) connect the jaw to the skull. TMD (temporomandibular disorders) include problems with the joint, disc, or chewing muscles—causing pain, clicking, limited opening, headaches, or ear fullness.

Common Symptoms

  • Jaw pain or tightness; pain on chewing or waking
  • Clicking/popping or locking (open/closed)
  • Limited mouth opening; deviation when opening
  • Headaches, temple pain, ear pain/fullness, neck/shoulder tension
  • Tooth wear from clenching/grinding (bruxism)
